EMILY + PETER | lds hartford temple wedding with fresh frozen grass

There is literally no down-side to adding a vintage fur wrap to your wedding day look. None! You are 1) warm 2) stylish and 3) so huggable. It’s exactly what you want if your New England-y wedding is a few days after frigid temperatures have given EVERY surface a solid coat of ice. Emily and Peter followed me around the icy lawns of the Hartford Temple with a loud CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH under our feet as we broke through the frozen grass with no complaints - I think something about getting married just minutes prior helps to make the cold more bearable. It was a chilly, happy, day!

AMY+JAMES | lds st paul temple and cotton candy fluffy clouds

Today is January 16th. It is exactly seventeen degrees out. I walked outside with damp sweaty gym hair for exactly 60 seconds… and the ends of my hair froze. So as a little therapy for the soul, I figured it would be good to reflect back on some warmer Minnesota days and a beautiful wedding from the LDS St. Paul Temple!

Take a look and breathe it all in. The fluffy clouds, 1092381 shades of green, (948012 mosquitos), cotton candy bushes, (99% humidity), and absolutely no snow whatsoever. Bliss!

ALEJANDRA+JASON | LDS hartford CT temple wedding on an early spring morning

The LDS Hartford Connecticut Temple was only finished about a year ago, which means the opportunity to photograph a wedding there is an extra special treat! Thousands (and thousands and thousands) of wedding ceremonies take place in other, older, LDS Temples out west (I'm looking at you, Salt Lake City) but here in Hartford (or Philadelphia or Nauvoo or Boston or Minneapolis), that's not the case. And it's fantastic!

After the ceremony and pictures around the temple grounds, everyone head over to the New Britain Art Museum for a reception later that evening. So glad we snagged some more bride and groom pictures there before the festivities started!

Ceremony - LDS Hartford CT Temple
Reception - New Britain Museum of Art
Dress - Maggie Sottero from The Perfect Dress (SLC, UT)
Florist - All Occasions Florist
