ABOUT ME (EMILY!)

I am a Connecticut native but started my career in the Rocky Mountain west and now reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota - where photography is seasonal because of the cold!

I got married young, started shooting weddings, then received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in photography. Yes, it’s all a little backwards! I hit many big milestones with my partner by my side and from that my thoughts began: Why do couples only have their pictures professionally taken at their wedding?

I’m much more proud of the marriage we have than of the wedding we had. I want to document our ongoing journey, even when that means lugging a heavy tripod on an 8-mile hike through Redwoods National Park.

When babies entered our family (we have two!) I asked a new question: Why do so many parents only have professional pictures of (and with) their kids but not their spouse?

For our wedding anniversaries, our kids have a babysitter so pictures of just the two of us can be the main event. This is something I hope to share with all my clients, no matter the milestone they are celebrating.
